چکیده
Porous robust materials are typically the primary selection of several industrial processes. Many these compounds are, however, not enough to be used as multifunctional materials. This is case Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) which rarely combine different excellent functionalities into same material. In this report we describe simple acid–base postsynthetic modification isotypical porous rare-earth-phosphonate MOFs a truly system, maintaining original porosity features: [Ln(H3pptd)]·xSolvent [where Ln3+ = Y3+ (1) and (Y0.95Eu0.05)3+ (1_Eu)] converted [K3Ln(pptd)]·zSolvent (1K) (1K_Eu)] by immersing powder 1 1_Eu an ethanolic solution KOH for 48 h. The K+-exchanged Eu3+-based material exhibits considerable boost in CO2 adsorption, capable being reused consecutive cycles. It can further separate C2H2 from complex ternary gas mixture composed CH4, CO2, C2H2. high adsorption selectivity is, additionally, observed other gaseous mixtures, such C3H6 C3H8, with all results supported detailed theoretical calculations. incorporation K+ ions notably increases electrical conductivity 4 orders magnitude relative humidity conditions. assumed predominantly protonic nature, rendering one best conducting reported date.

Photowritten gratings in ion-exchanged glass waveguides.
The fabrication of an ion-exchanged waveguide beam deflector containing a photowritten grating is described. The planar waveguide was fabricated by thermal K(+) exchange in a borosilicate glass. The grating was written by photobleaching an absorption defect centered at 330 am, which was created by gamma-ray irradiation of the glass. The bleaching was accomplished with the 351-nm line from an ar...
متن کاملNegligible birefringence in dual-mode ion-exchanged glass waveguide gratings.
Polarization dependence of UV-written Bragg gratings in buried ion-exchanged glass waveguides is investigated. A polarization-dependent shift in Bragg wavelength of less than 0.02 nm is measured, both for the even and the odd modes of a laterally dual-mode waveguide. The measured wavelength shift corresponds to a waveguide birefringence of the order of 10(-5), which is negligible for most appli...
متن کاملXAFS Studies of Silver Environments in Ion-Exchanged Glasses
The X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) technique was used to analyze the structural geometry of Ag atoms introduced into soda-lime silicate glass and soda aluminosilicate glass by ion-exchange methods. The results show that Ag ions in aluminosilicate glass are coordinated by about two oxygens and the nearest-neighbor Ag-O distance increases when the Ag-for-Na ion-exchange ratio is larger th...
متن کاملIon exchanged vermiculites with lower expansion onset temperatures
South African Palabora vermiculite was modified by ion exchange with ammonium and selected alkali metal and alkaline earth metal ions. In the exchanged vermiculite with ammonium ions, it was found that ammonia and water were the blowing agents and they were simultaneously released during thermal degradation. In the increasing ionic potential series: Na, Ba, Ca and Mg, it was found that the onse...

AB S TRACT: Montmorillonites ion-exchanged with Li +, Na +, K § Ca 2+, Mg 2+ and Ni 2+ and acidic clay were used as catalysts for the polymerization of a cyclic siloxane monomer, 2,4,6,8tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane. Montmorillonites with Ni 2+ and Mg 2+ in the interlayer, and acidic clay exhibit a greater ability for siloxane polymerization in both yield and mean molecular weight of products t...
